Murano Italian Art Glass 7 Piece Pear Cherry Banana Orange Gold Fruit Sculptures

About the Item

Beautiful set of vintage Murano hand blown Italian art glass fruit figures / sculptures. The set includes 2 pears, a bunch of cherries, a banana, an orange, a tomato, and a mystery yellow gold fruit. Some of the pieces are documented to designer Alfredo Barbini, circa 1950-1960. The blue-green pear, banana, orange and cherry bunch I have previously seen with Barbini labels. The orange pear is attributed to Archimede Seguso. The amethyst pink with gold tomato and yellow gold fruit I have never seen before, so they could be from another maker. They all have applied leafs and stems. They are also profusely covered in heavy gold leaf. The orange is a very unusual piece, with the crackle surface. The yellow fruit has a small diamond quilted pattern. As you can see from the close up, the fruit does have a stem still attached. It is only on the side and hard to see unless from the top. The bunch of cherries are also very rare, and specially because they are intact! The set would make a great display on any dinning table, coffee table or curio cabinet. You will be able to showcase them as decorative pieces in any room. Some could be used as a paperweights or put them all inside a bowl to create a spectacular centerpiece. Mid-century era. Measurements: Orange and gold Pear measures 5 1/2” tall x 3 3/8” wide - The green / blue Pear measures 5 1/4” tall x 3 1/4” wide - The Cherry bunch measures 3 3/4” tall x 2 3/4” wide - The Banana measures 6” long x 1 3/4” tall x 2 3/4” wide - The Tomato measures 3 5/8” wide x 2 1/2” tall - The Orange measures 4” tall x 3 3/4” wide - The Yellow quilted surface fruit measures 3 3/4” wide x 2 1/4” tall.
