Saint John the Evangelist and the Virgin from a Crucifixion Group, Spain, circa 1500, in walnut. Superb pair of gilded and polychrome wood sculptures from the late 15th century, circa 1500, with a Gothic influence. Original polychromy and gilding that have retained superb colors, museum quality. Magnificent drapery. Magnificent facial expressions, the Virgin weeping for the death of Jesus and Saint John the Baptist watching the crucifixion . We can note the very high quality of these two pieces with beautiful facial expressions, the fineness of the hair, and the delicate fingers. In superb condition with a magnificent patina. We would be willing to sell them separately.
