Antique statue life sized Roman Greek natural stone old sculpture. The antique statue displayed in this Ad is one of 12 reclaimed life sized limestone statues. In this specific First Dibs Ad Listing you are purchasing only ONE statue that is displayed in the photos. The dozen statues were salvaged from one of the finest, rarest and most preserved sets of intricately hand carved life sized statues from an Aristocrat noble estate in Marseille, France. The classical yet rustic touch that dominates all throughout the 12 natural-stone sculptured figures is a stern indicator that the centuries old statues were most probably carved on-site by the same group of French master carvers. Although every sculpture within this set exhibits its unique character and carving features, the overall artistic realm of all pieces point to a common school of carving. This private collection of antique statues represents one of the most exclusive sets that exist in today’s market. The first thing that comes to mind when looking at those grandiose museum-grade beauties is the level of detail: When minute carving details remain visible after centuries, that could only mean that the items were extremely well-preserved all throughout the years. You can literally see the veins, bones, muscles, scars, cartilage, and the tiniest facial features on many of the statues. Very minimal wear and tear also indicates that these pieces of art have had only 1 or 2 previous owners ever since they came to exist. There is no doubt that such extremely well kept valuables were always displayed indoors although their dense natural stone physiology makes them ideal for both indoor and outdoor environments.
