Georges Charles Coudray (Paris, 1883-1932) A Fine 19th century French Gilt and mid-brown Patina figure of an Orientalist Woman Playing Harp with Sphinx Head. Signed: Coudray AP with seal of Societe des Bronze de Paris Plaque reads: Tahoser, Prix de Rome Height: 20" (50 cm) Georges Charles Coudray studied under Falguière and exhibited at the Salon from 1883-1903. He is most well known for his Orientalist studies, many of which were cast by Société des Bronzes de Paris. Literature: S. Richemond, Les Orientalistes Dictionnaire des sculpteurs; XIX-XX siécles, Paris, 2008, p. 79.
