About the Item

This stunning rotating astrolabe is a gorgeous kinetic sculpture. The rare celestial orbit piece was crafted in Italy circa 1970. The six circles are made of Acrylic Lucite in a smoke gray color and stand on a frosted clear base. The six concentric circles that constitute this atomic astrolabe pivot on a different axis from the previous circle, thus creating thousands of possible combinations for a surprisingly and constantly different design. There is no visible maker's signature. Dimensions: 17.94 in wide (45.5 cm) by 13 in deep (33 cm) by 19.94 in high (50.5 cm).
