This exceptional antique George V English finely cast sterling silver table ornament have been realistically modelled in the form of an Argyll and Sutherland Highlander dressed in Scottish regimental officer's attire from the period of 1902-1914.
The Highlander is habited in a uniform consisting of a service jacket with crossed sash and strap accented with a central emblem and two medals; these medals represent two Boer War medals.
The soldier is dressed in a tartan kilt with decorative badger head sporran in addition to patterned knee length kilt socks with a turnover top and fabric bows, finished off with shin high boots.
This antique soldier is surmounted with a feather bonnet with hackle, which is a traditional military headdress used within the Scottish Highland infantry regiments.
