Susan Bland, American (20th century). "Scrapbook #1" mixed media assemblage on board, 1986. Signed, titled, and dated underneath. Presented in a custom plexiglass display case. The scraps of fabric, paint, beads, and other fragments of life which cling to the pages of a spiral bound notebook in this assemblage create a unique visual narrative. The sculpture is designed to be interactive; as the pieces are not secured to the board, they can be rearranged to the owner's desired display.
