About the Item

A Coco De Mer sculpture by Glyn Lockett with silvered brass stem, the pudendum with silver wire inset with lapis and seed pearls on silver mounted boar tusk feet and with makers silver monogram. This is a fantastic opportunity to start collecting at the beginning of a collection, all pieces are handmade one off pieces. Glynn Lockett studied art and sculpture, before setting up his own restoration studio where he started to make his own objects using rare and precious materials. Influenced by the great 16th century collectors of ethnographic and natural history artefacts originally displayed in cabinets of curiosities of Kunsthammer, his pieces all using natural and often precious materials, have a both historical and modern twist exploring the symbiosis between the finished artwork and the materials used.
