About the Item

In this listing you will find a stunning flacon done in thick dark blue art glass with a ruby red stopper, attributed to Maurice Marinot. His work is often characterized by its heavy, thick-walled "méplat" (flattened) or baluster shapes and this flacon is none different. It features deep, "muscular" acid etching that creates heavy textures or drapery-like motifs on the surface. Marinot famously used "intercalary" techniques, trapping air bubbles (verre bullé) or gold leaf between layers of glass, which you see on this piece. Made in France between 1919 and 1923. This piece is not signed. Design attribution is based on similarities with his other works exhibited in several museums across the globe - size, colors, technique... The flacon is in very good condition with some signs of time and use. When purchased the flacon will be carefully wrapped up and packed in a way to avoid any damages in transport. As soon as shipped you will receive the tracking number for your package. If you have any additional questions regarding this piece please feel free to contact me. Happy shopping!
