About the Item

Beautiful 19th century northern Portuguese vessel for storing wine or olive oil. It's been turned on the wheel to make the ribbed markings. These are sought after for decoration and collected as well. Black pottery like this one makes a statement in design with is matte finish that comes from the barro negro technic. 20"diameter x 23"t x 7.75 mouth opening.
