About the Item

Pair large green and blue majolica apothecary jar vases. Italian cylindrical ribbed and slightly concave tin glaze earthenware jars by the famed Cantagalli factory. With blue bell shaped flowers on green leafy garlands; yellow banded accents at rim and base with further floral paisley ornament at neck above base. Similar jar in the collection of Victoria and Albert Museum. Italy, late 19th century Measures: 14.5” Height x 9” diameter; 6.63” diameter base.
