A stunning two-piece French Limoges porcelain vase / jardiniere planter / cachepot / table centerpiece / wine bottle cooler on stand, featuring exceptional "L'Escarpolette medallion after the famous 18th century Rococo artist Jean-Honoré Fragonard (French; 1732-1806) Exquisitely hand-crafted in France, late 20th century, high-quality porcelain and stunning hand painted decoration, burgundy red ground, with luxurious gilt accents, bulbous body atop a matching footed riser base. The vase decorated with a visually striking exceptionally executed large central medallion, depicting the famous 18th century Louis XV Rococo painting titled "L'Escarpolette" or "The Swing" after Jean-Honoré Fragonard (French; 1732-1806), flanked by brilliantly gilded pierced figural elephant head handles, raised on a fitted base stand with four gilded paw feet. Maker's mark, hand signed artist name Gérard? and dated 1985 underfoot. *Please note, at the time of writing this, a similarly styled different form handled footed pedestal centerpiece / vase / fruit bowl is currently available. An exceptional matching pair of exhibition quality bisque porcelain vasi-form urn garnitures, very fine Parisian work, elegant Louis XVI style, finished with luxurious Neoclassical taste, the magnificent, richly decorated ovoid form antique urns / vases adorned in sumptuous finely gilded, chiseled and chased ormolu mounts. Made in France in the late 19th century, having shaped rope twist handles rising above classical female mask mounts decorating the sides, bands of decadent gold-tone gilded bronze floral garland and ribbon draped laurel swags flanked by exuberant scallop-shell running ornamentation, complementing the matte cream white color of the bisque porcelain.
