This large Mediterranean terracotta pot dates from the 19th century and is characterized by its generous rounded body, softly curved shoulders and wide raised rim. Its simple proportions reflect the functional pottery traditions found throughout the Mediterranean, where substantial earthenware vessels were produced for everyday use.
