Perhaps this was a custom piece meant for a retail display or an artist studio piece. The origins are as mysterious as this nature-loving mamma herself. Made of fiberglass, the lightweight figure is easy to maneuver. One person can easily pick it up to position it toward a favorable light source. Fiberglass is also weather resistant. The Plant Lady can be used indoors or outdoors. There is no one quite like The Plant Lady. She’s a caretaker and a conversation piece. A rare sculptural statement in plant display, this life-size “Plant Lady” planter blends artistry, narrative, and utility into one unforgettable piece. Molded in fiberglass and finished in crisp white. The design is inventive: three planter cavities—one above her head and two basket-like supports in her hands—allow greenery to become her crown and adornment. The whimsy of foliage “hair” transforms her into living sculpture, while the baskets in her arms engage the playful fantasy of display. As a display piece, she operates on multiple levels: garden ornament, indoor sculpture, plant holder, and conversational anchor.
