About the Item

A lovely French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and marble urn, signed 'F. Barbedienne'. The urn is raised by a circular Rouge Griotte marble base with a bottom ormolu fillet. At the base of the ormolu urn is a finely chased grass design with a small mouse and a reptile just above the signature. At the body are rich and highly chased designs of a boy sitting on a rock playing flutes amidst a foliate garland below fine birds.
