About the Item

18th century Italian mecca vase decorated with pyrite and peridot points and sits on a polished coordinating glass base. The 18th century mecca vase is originally from Tuscany. It is hand-carved with mecca gilding along with underlying paint showing through due to age. The natural forming pyrite is mounted onto the piece using a metal rod and is decorated with coordinating peridot points. The vase sits on a polished glass base. The Italian mecca vase, pyrite, and peridot points are put together in a sculptural form - creating a historical yet organic piece of old and new. Interpreting the past to create a piece entirely original, evolving in its own right.
