About the Item

Hand blown glass vase with blue glass fragments, iridized with hole in the middle, by Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.V.E.M.), Murano Italy 1950's. The visual effects of the glass fragments are quite stunning. In the 1950’s with the sculptures of artists like Henry Moore experimenting with negative space, A.V.E.M. did too with several models and prototypes. Provenance: Evan Lobel purchased this piece directly from A.V.E.M. in 2001 as part of a large collection of pieces stored there from the 1950’s and 60’s.
