About the Item

Émile Gallé, Vase Fougères/Ferns Décor, Nancy, c. 1904–1906 An exceptional and authentic Art Nouveau cameo glass vase by Établissement Émile Gallé, manufactured between 1904 and 1906. The vessel features a continuous botanical motif of ferns (fougères), executed through multi-layered acid-etching.The decoration features dark forest-green fronds rising from a deep-toned base, set against a satin-finished background of acid-yellow and pale green tones. The overlay technique gives a distinct depth to the botanical silhouettes, complementing the compact, organic shape of the vase, in layered cameo glass, acid-etched. Excellent condition. No chips, cracks, or restorations. Signed Gallé in cameo within the decoration (featuring the 1904–1906 production mark), confirming its authenticity and period production. Dimensions: Height: 13 cm (approx. 5.12 inches). Excellent vintage condition, consistent with age and use. No chips, cracks, or restorations.
