About the Item

White opaline glass ewer dating from the second half of the 19th century, Napoleon III period, circa 1860–1880. The body is decorated with scrolling foliage and vegetal motifs in solid silver arranged in arabesque patterns across the surface. The piece features a classical form with a flared spout and two symmetrical side handles. The contrast between the white opaline and the silver decoration creates a decorative ensemble characteristic of ornamental objects from the second half of the 19th century. This type of object was generally used as a decorative piece in interiors, often placed on a mantel, console, or in a display cabinet.
