About the Item

Tall, large and huge vintage green glass wine demijohn, bottle or amphora with the original wrought iron and green painted metal basket - quite a rare find. This was mouth blown / hand made in Hungary circa 1940 and is good vintage condition. The bottle neck is not damaged, rather, that's how it would have been removed from the glassblower's pipe. Great size and would make a wonderful vessel for holding dry flowers and/or seagrasses etc. You could also, very easily, make the metal basket in to an oversized hanging pendant light / lamp or as a side table - both options would be relatively inexpensive. Measurements: Metal Basket measures - 56cm in diameter by 51cm in height Glass Demijohn measures - 45cm in diameter by 65cm in height.
