About the Item

Luigi Onesto was born in Murano into a glass-making family. At the age of 15 he begins to learn the secrets of glass as an apprentice at Gambaro & Poggi, one of the oldest and most famous glass factories on the island. In 1978 he established his own glass art studio, the Vetreria Artistica Oball . His elegant vessels, bottles and objects are created by the technique called sommerso which incorporates layers of different colours. Luigi Onesto is now joined by his sons Fabio and Michele. Etched signature to underside ‘L. Onesto Murano’.
