About the Item

Gorgeously glazed in shades of moss green and blue-green by Waylande Gregory, this rare and large vase depicts a flowering cactus plant, its foliage highlighted with a metallic silver. Prodigious and indefatigable, Gregory produced a wide range of sculptures and wares in ceramic beginning in his college days, through his years working with Lorado Taft and later when he created large multi-figure pieces for WPA projects, institutions and public parks.
