About the Item

This exceptional French ceramic vase in an iconic diabolo shape is an authentic creation by René Maurel, produced during the vibrant Golden Age of Vallauris and dated 1967 on the underside. Crafted with balanced architectural proportions, the piece displays a warm ochre and olive-green satin glaze. It features two bands of geometric incised motifs framing a central frieze decorated with hand-engraved, stylized cats—a signature whimsical subject matter of the French post-war ceramic revival. Its distinctive silhouette, refined sgraffito technique, and historical ties to the Vallauris artistic renaissance make it a choice collector's piece for Mid-Century Modern or French Studio Pottery enthusiasts. Please have a look at all the pictures. Dimensions Height: 22.5 cm (8.86") Diameter: 13.5 cm (5.31") Very good original condition. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. 😊 Eve
