About the Item

A striking large vase-sculpture by Burchiellaro, Italy, 1970s, crafted in cast iron and aluminum. With its sculptural spherical body and futuristic presence, this extraordinary object goes far beyond the function of a vase. It stands as a decorative sculpture in its own right — almost extraterrestrial, as if it belonged to a refined interior from another planet, or to an imagined future conceived in the 1970s. The rounded aluminum body is defined by a beautiful hand-worked silver surface, whose brushed texture creates a continuous vibration of light across the sphere. At the center, the dark cast-iron band wraps around the entire circumference like an orbit, visually dividing the two hemispheres and giving the piece a powerful architectural rhythm. This contrast between the luminous aluminum and the darker, rougher cast iron gives the object an incredible graphic presence: minimal, brutalist, cosmic and refined at the same time. The top features a clean circular opening, perfectly integrated into the sculptural volume. The underside is signed “burchiellaro,” confirming its authenticity. A rare and highly decorative vase-sculpture with incredible presence. Perfect as a standalone sculptural object or as a statement piece in a contemporary, brutalist, or collectible design interior.
