About the Item

Stig Lindberg (1951) "Grazia" vase for Gustavsberg Ceramic and silver. Fine stoneware with matte white glaze and glossy silver enamel accents. Rare model from the Grazia series with silver accents depicting a dancing woman. Manufacturer's mark and various inscriptions under the base. Diameter : 10 (base) -20 (top) cm. Stig Lindberg (1916-1982) is one Scandinavia's most noted postwar designers. He joined the Gustavsberg studio in 1937 and was formed by Willhelm Kåge. He was named Kåge's successor in 1949 and became art director of Gustavsberg himself. His work was featured in Sweden's National Museum and has won many awards, including the Milan Triennale gold medal and Grand Prix. His designs from the 1950s and 1960s are the most sought after.
