About the Item

Striking Swedish Art Deco ceramic vase designed by Einar Luterkort for Uppsala Ekeby, circa 1930s. This sculptural piece features a beautifully rounded form with applied relief decoration and dual stylized handles, characteristic of Luterkort’s refined yet expressive design language. The vase is finished in a rich, mottled turquoise-green glaze with subtle variations, creating depth and a softly aged patina. A fine example of Scandinavian Art Deco ceramics, combining classical form with modernist restraint. The tactile surface and balanced proportions make it equally suitable as a standalone decorative object or functional vessel. Uppsala Ekeby was one of Sweden’s most important ceramic producers of the early 20th century, and Luterkort remains one of its notable designers.
