About the Item

Vase by Alain Gaudebert, Puisaye - Era Joulia Debril Deblander - La Borne A superb blood-red vase, scarified on the outside, with a serrated neck and a smooth matt black glaze on the inside. The piece is in very good condition and signed under the base. ------------------- One of the greatest contemporary French ceramists, Alain Gaudebert is born in 1937. His work is a combination of the unquenchable quest for glazed colour and modelled sculptures. The monumental character of certain works is limited by the size of his kiln, which he built himself. He fires exclusively with wood. Anuthentical and original creator, he invents shapes, structures and colours he applies to the clay. His unique pieces are constantly renewed according to his imagination and are appreciated by many international galleries and collectors.
