Article: Ceramic stoneware object Designer and producer: Gerhard Liebenthron Information: Gerhard Liebenthron, Bremen 1925 †2005 Decade: 1960s This original vintage Studio Pottery Object was designed by Gerhard Liebenthron and produced in his own Studio in the 1960s in Bremen Germany. It is made of stoneware pottery ceramic and has a very unique brown, green coloration and surface structure. the bottom is marked with typical Liebenthron Producer signature GL and year signature 68. A very collectible and very rare item of the Liebenthron Collection. the object has a very sculptural form and in its size of 20cm in height and 14,5cm in diameter, it is very impressive. Straightforward and minimalistic design of the 1970s design era. This item is a wonderful addition to every modern home. Dimensions: Height 20cm Diameter 14,5cm. Weight: 1,5kg Condition: This item is in a very good vintage condition with patina. VITA Liebenthron: From 1945-1951 Liebenthron studied at the Staatliche Kunstschule Bremen (school of arts) in the pottery class of Else Krieg & Dorothea Colberg-Tjadens. in 1951 Liebenthron has been the Assistant of the sculptor Prof. Goersemann there. After Liebenthron finished his time at the Kunstschule he opened his own workshop in the Boettcherstraße, Bremen (in 1952). Gerhard Liebenthron's work can be found in several museums in Germany. the Keramik Museum in Berlin, the Fockemuseum in Bremen and the Hetiens Museum in Düsseldorf for example. Otto Meier, the silent master of the 20th century, is still considered a role model to many ceramists. His works are represented in important public and private collections. Decade: 1960-1965 This original vintage Studio Stoneware Object was designed by Otto Meier and produced in his own Studio in the 1960s in Bremen, Worpswede in Germany. It is made of solid very heavy stoneware pottery and has a very unique light green coloration and structure. the bottom is marked with typical Otto Meier Producer signature OM. a very collectible and very rare item of the Meier Collection. the object has a very sculptural form and in its size of 16,5cm in height and 20,5cm in diamter, it is very impressive. straighftorward and minimalistic design of the 1960s design era.
