About the Item

An original "Rollador" smoking stand manufactured by Belmet U.S.A. and patented in the late 1920s. This unusual design combines multiple smoking-related functions within a compact and movable object. Chrome-plated steel surfaces are contrasted by oxblood-red lacquered elements, creating a distinctive appearance that reflects both American Art Deco aesthetics and the emerging Machine Age design language of the period. The Rollador incorporates an ashtray, cigar and cigarette holders, a match holder, and an integrated cigarette compartment. Its most characteristic feature is the rolling construction with steel-rimmed wheels, allowing the object to be easily moved within an interior. Objects of this type illustrate the fascination with mobility, technology, and efficiency that shaped American design during the interwar years. The combination of geometric forms, chrome finishes, and mechanical functionality gives the Rollador a distinctive presence that remains remarkably contemporary. The present example has been professionally restored and technically serviced. Fully functional.
