A large modernist ashtray attributed to Fontana Arte, crafted from thick, pale-green crystal glass with a mirrored underside. The substantial circular form features a deeply recessed center and four sculpted cigarette rests integrated into the rim. The reflective backing creates a striking sense of depth, illuminating the subtle green tone of the glass while emphasizing its weight and precision-cut profile. Characteristic of Italian modernist glass design of the 1960s, the piece has a restrained yet highly sculptural presence. Equally compelling as an ashtray, vide poche, or decorative tabletop object. The mirrored underside displays naturally developed foxing, oxidation, and areas of silvering loss, contributing to its beautifully aged character. Additional surface wear is consistent with age and use. Italy, circa 1960s.
