About the Item
Superb Murano art glass ashtray, crafted using the sommerso technique, characterized by layers of colored glass encased within clear crystal. This piece features a freeform organic shape with sculptural, undulating edges, typical of Italian design from the 1960s–1970s.
The vibrant color inclusions — deep blue, green, pink, and amber — create a striking play of light depending on the viewing angle. Both functional and decorative, it can also be used as a vide-poche or centerpiece object.
A fine example of Italian craftsmanship and a Murano production.
