About the Item

Pair of ashtrays with cigarette slots by Piero Fornasetti, (circa 1950s, Italy). These examples retailed at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City, as indicated on the reverse. Composed of a grey printed equestrian motif with scroll border and gilded accents over porcelain. Wear consistent with age and materials (gilt loss / fading present). There is one small, partial hairline crack to the interior cigarette slot, which is a result of the firing process, as evidenced by the positioning of the gilt and glaze over it. Branded: "Exclusive in New York for Bergdorf Goodman Fornasetti Milano Made in Italy." Listing is for the pair.
