About the Item

Beautiful vintage carved onyx ashtray, likely made in Mexico in the 1970s. This piece stands out for its organic, almost sculptural form, with a raw natural edge that contrasts nicely against the smooth, polished interior. The stone features layered banding in soft white, cream, and rich amber tones, creating a landscape-like effect that feels both earthy and refined. The interior is deeply carved and polished, giving it a soft, almost luminous quality, while the exterior retains its natural texture for added character. Originally designed as an ashtray, it works just as well today as a catchall for jewelry, keys, or small objects, or simply as a decorative piece on its own.
