About the Item

Circa 1960 vintage French floor ashtray/catchall in the style of French-Swiss husband-and-wife duo Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet. Known for their playful and unique modernist designs, Audoux and Minet adopted a rustic style in their work, integrating abaca hemp cord and other organic materials in their provocative designs. Twisted abaca hemp rope with curved circular base and sculptural stem holds a detachable metal dish which floats effortlessly at knee height to create a simple and beautiful accent piece for any home interior. Dish dimensions: Width: 6.75” height: 1”.
