In addition to its charismatic qualities, the Alessandro M Corkscrew is a joy to use. CREATOR Alessandro Mendini for Alessi, Italy. DATE OF MANUFACTURE 2003. MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Thermoplastic Resin, Chrome-plated. CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. DIMENSIONS H 8.5 in. x W 2.75 in. x D 2.25 in. HISTORY Born in Milan, Alessandro Mendini is the former director of Casabella, Modo and Domus. The winner of a Compasso d'Oro and designer of the Groninger Museum in Groningen, the Casino in Arosa and the Forum in Omegna. He is a designer, architect and image consultant for Philips, Swarovski, Swatch, and Bisazza.
