An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Danish sterling silver bon bon dish made by Georg Jensen in the Arts & Crafts style; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection. This exceptional Danish sterling silver dish has an oval tapering form onto a shaped pedestal and panelled decagon foot. The surface of this Fine example of antique silverware is plain and has a planished finish. The impressive Georg Jensen dish is supported by an impressive chased leaf decorated pedestal foot, accented with a spindle design to the upper portion and applied ball ornamentation, all in the Arts & Crafts style. The broad collet style panelled rim is plain and unembellished The underside of this silver dish bears the contemporary engraved initials 'J.M.C' The hallmarks struck to the underside of this dish include Maker's mark: Georg Jensen (these marks were used between 1925-1930) Country mark: Denmark Silver quality/purity mark: Sterling (925/1000) Registration number: 42B Condition This antique Georg Jensen dish is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The Danish hallmarks struck to the underside of the foot are all very clear. Dimensions Length 12.4cm/4.9" Width 9cm/3.5" Height 5.6cm/2.2". A fine antique Victorian English sterling silver bon bon dish, an addition to our silver dining collection. This fine antique Victorian sterling silver bon bon dish has an oval shaped form onto a pedestal and oval spreading foot. The body of the dish is embellished with embossed fluted ornamentation accented with a central scroll and leaf decorated motif to the centre of the well. The undulating rim of the dish is encompassed with embossed decoration in addition to pierced simplified foliate designs. The pedestal is embellished with further embossed alternating fluted decoration with a plain rim. The underside of the dish bears the registration number 'Rd 163770.' Condition This antique dish is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition. There are some fire marks to the well of the dish, in keeping with age. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the rim are all very clear; the second portion of the maker's mark has wear but remains legible. Dimensions Length 16.1 cm/6.3". Width 11.6 cm/4.6".
