About the Item

Large stoneware bowl by Danish ceramic artist Peter Stengade (b. 1947). The bowl features a simple and harmonious hemispherical form, elevated by a striking glaze in vivid shades of azure and light blue. Its surface is decorated with Stengade's characteristic incised linear patterning, creating a rich sense of depth and movement across the glaze. The unglazed, gently folded rim provides a subtle contrast to the vibrant surface and highlights the handcrafted nature of the piece. Signed P. Stengade and stamped with the artist's own workshop mark. A beautiful and decorative example of Peter Stengade's studio ceramics, combining a refined form with a richly textured glaze that changes character as it catches the light. Denmark.
