About the Item

Red Damask Plate by deBlona Dimensions: D 50 x H 1 cm. Materials: Ceramic. Colors: Aquamarine / Pink / Red / White / Black, golden yellow, cerium oxide. The “Black Damask” plate, crafted in majolica and painted in a striking duotone of black and golden yellow, features an elegant decorative motif rooted in the Deruta tradition, inspired by a tile from a local church and reinterpreted in a contemporary style. The wide rim, accentuated by a raised edge and delicately painted modular ornamentation, showcases an extensive decorative border band adorned with traditional peacock feather motifs in soft golden yellow, accented with cerium white shading. Inside the large central area, naturalistic decorations unfold in perfect specular and radial symmetry, radiating from a central hexagonal element. This intricate design forms graceful golden yellow raceme motifs that beautifully contrast against the rich black background. The meticulous attention to detail enhances the quality of the piece, a hallmark of fine craftsmanship that is also evident on the back, where additional decorative elements and a certification mark confirm its authenticity. About: The deBlona brand was born in 2020 from a serendipitous meeting between entrepreneur Moreno Sagni and designer Riccardo Mei. Their shared passion for art and Italian craftsmanship ignited a collaboration that set the stage for a bold new challenge. In a world moving at break-neck digital speed, they chose to go against the tide, to slow down, restoring value and prestige to an ancient craft and timeless art form. Because some things should never be forgotten, even if they seem distant from today’s fast-paced trends. deBlona embraces a different rhythm, one rooted in the mastery of artisans, creating in spaces of quiet reflection. Our brand is a tribute to the enduring traditions of craftsmanship, shaped by modern imagination and creativity.

This exclusive ceramic plate is handmade and hand-painted in Italy following the original Renaissance painting technique, unchanged over time, which we observe to the letter: it is decorated in majolica hand-painted in duotone of black and golden yellow, showing an elegant decorative motif of the Deruta tradition which is inspired by a tile found in a local church and suitably reworked in a modern key. The wide brim, with a raised edge and profiled with a finely painted modular ornament, is characterized by an extensive decorative border band where the traditional peacock feather motifs are represented, decorated with delicate shades of golden yellow shaded with cerium white. Naturalistic decorations are depicted inside the large cable, arranged in specular and radial symmetry which branches off from a central hexagonal element and articulates around the circumference, forming elegant golden yellow raceme motifs that stand out against a black background. Our majolica plate can be used as a fancy centerpiece or it can be hung as a decorative wall dish...
