An elegant Carr’s of Sheffield ship’s decanter, crafted from substantial cut crystal and finished with a fully hallmarked sterling silver collar. The broad, low-set body features an attractive spiral-cut pattern, producing a dynamic play of light across the crystal. Its wide, flat base follows the traditional ship’s decanter form, originally developed to provide greater stability at sea. The neck is mounted with a polished sterling silver collar, providing a refined contrast with the clear crystal, and the decanter retains its coordinating crystal stopper. The silver carries Sheffield assay marks and the date letter corresponding to 2006, identifying this as a quality piece of contemporary British silver-mounted glassware by Carr’s.
