About the Item

An exceptional hand-blown glass goblet by Hermann Pautsch, master decorator of the renowned Josephinenhütte glassworks, circa 1880–1890. The conical bowl is richly enamelled with a continuous garland of vividly colored flowers — roses, asters, and daisies — framed with fine raised gilding and delicate gold bands. The stem displays a sculpted baluster shape with a gilded midsection and clear knop, showcasing the elegant proportions typical of Josephinenhütte’s late 19th-century luxury production. Hermann Pautsch’s enamel work is celebrated for its precision, depth of color, and subtle shading — qualities that distinguish this goblet from the more common Bohemian wares of the same era. Highly decorative and collectible, such pieces were exhibited at European decorative arts expositions and are now sought after by collectors of German and Austrian glass. Date: Circa 1880–1890 Dimensions: Height: 19 cm (7.5 in) Diameter: 10 cm (3.9 in) Condition: Good condition; minor wear to gilding and light surface scratches to the underside of the base consistent with age.
