About the Item

A fabulous signed Art Deco Legras cameo vase. An almost bullet shaped rounded top and bottom cylinder vase in a range of bluey greens -It is made of a heavily, marbled glass which was then cameo cut with segmented abstract shapes within diagonal bands, giving it an overall dramatic impact. The vase is a well documented example of Legras work from the 1920. This vase comes with an interesting documented provenance - It used to belong to Paul Nicolas -one time Chief Designer at Emile Galle -and later creator of the D'Argental cameo range for St Louis - Paul Nicolas's granddaughter has provided a letter of provenance stating it belonged to her grandfather - Essential a key competitor of the Legras Cameo range. (The original signed letter comes with the vase)
