About the Item

Large antique dome or globe with non-original black wooden base, the glass is mouth-blown, the dome dates from the beginning of the 20th century or earlier. The Asian black wooden base has the right size but is not the original base, it fits very well and dates from about the same period, the base is an antique foot to place a Chinese vase, ginger jar or lighting element on. A fragile and delicate object, authentic handmade glass with small air bubbles and irregularities, the fine glass dome is not perfectly symmetrical, but that gives the object character and shows that it is not machine-made, glassblowing is a lost craft, hand-blown glass products have a level of quality, uniqueness and craftsmanship that sets them apart. Beautiful object to display a special object, a rare or fragile statue, a flower arrangement, taxidermy, the possibilities are numerous! This bell jar with base is in very good antique condition, no cracks or breaks, some superficial scratches but nothing disturbing, check the photos for more details! Dimensions: 16cm diameter, 45cm total height, 41cm high without wooden base. Weight: 0.976kg.
