About the Item

A rare and elegant set of six antique Josephinenhütte-style liqueur or whisky tot glasses, dating to approximately 1900–1910 and distinguished by their beautifully worked coloured double-series air-twist stems. Each hand-blown glass features a slender clear bowl above a decorative knop and an intricate double-series air-twist stem. The set incorporates three different colour variations — two green, two red and two white — creating a particularly attractive presentation when displayed together. Further detail is provided by a series of tiny controlled air bubbles at the base of each bowl, demonstrating the technical skill involved in their manufacture. The delicate proportions, intricate stems and restrained colouring are characteristic of sophisticated Central European glassmaking around the turn of the 20th century. At approximately five inches high and with a capacity of around 40ml, the glasses were intended for liqueurs, spirits or small after-dinner servings. The Josephinenhütte attribution should be treated as an attribution unless supported by documented provenance or identifiable factory marks.
