About the Item

Newcastle. A Rare and Unusual George III Heraldic Wine Label Made in Newcastle circa 1786-90 by Langlands and Robertson.\ The Label is oval in form with a double thread edge and is engraved for SHERRY. This example has a shield above, flanked by two scroll supporters, which is engraved with a contemporary Crest. The label is very well marked on the reverse. Labels from Newcastle are scarce, especially modelled in this unusual heraldic design. Additional information: Length: 1.9 inches, 4.75cm
