About the Item

A round serving tray attributed to Mathieu Matégot, crafted in perforated sheet metal using the designer’s signature “Rigitulle” technique. The tray features a softly raised rim and a pair of slender geometric handles, all finished in the original off-white lacquer. The perforated surface gives the piece a striking sense of lightness and texture, characteristic of Matégot’s innovative postwar metalwork. Retains a beautifully aged surface with scattered wear and areas of oxidation consistent with age and use. France, circa 1950.
