About the Item

Stupendo Vassoio / Tavolino realizzato in legno e con strato superiore in formica. I piedini sono piegabili e si bloccano tramite meccanismo in legno. Completamente restaurato in modo conservativo e senza cambiarne i materiali. Conserva il fascino dell'epoca ma la funzionalità è perfetta. Un bellissimo esempio di stile Italiano dell'epoca Déco... qui rappresentato dalle immagini raffigurate sul piano; quasi a farne un dipinto. Proviene da una dimora signorile della città di Roma. Size: Aperto - H.25 x L.65 x P.39 cm Chiuso - H.11 x L.65 x P.39 cm One of the most widely used synonyms for plastic laminate is the term fòrmica, which identifies the historic manufacturing company of the same name, the Ant Corporation, founded in 1913 by Herbert A. and Daniel J. O'Connor, following their invention of the high-pressure laminate, which in its earliest form was used as an electrical insulator. Solo nel 1927 al laminato venne aggiunto uno strato di resina melamminica che ne consentì l'impiego come materiale decorativo. Il nome "formica" deriva dall'inglese for mica, cioè il nuovo prodotto avrebbe sostituito la mica precedentemente utilizzata.
