About the Item

Derby blue and gold porcelain basket. Twin-handled navette form porcelain basket in rich blue and gilt painted fish-scale pattern with moulded lion head masks to the lobed corners of the basket; richly painted and gilded to the underside with further gilt and blue banding to the footed base. Red underglaze markings for Derby with crown and crossed batons above the numeral 2; also marked 45 in red, England, circa 1820. Dimension: 11.5" L x 9" W x 4.25" H.
