A delightful and collectible pair of porcelain and pure silver salt and pepper shakers designed and handcrafted in Taxco, Mexico by renowned artist Emilia Castillo. This charming duo features a mother elephant and calf, each with Castillo’s signature rounded sculptural form and adorned with hand-applied sterling silver inlay tracing the spine, tail, and delicate detailing around the head. The soft matte porcelain contrasts beautifully with the shimmering silver accents, giving the set a refined yet whimsical presence—equally suitable for functional use or display as miniature sculptural artworks. Each shaker is individually signed and dated: “Emilia Castillo, Plata, Mexico, 04” “Emilia Castillo, Plata, Mexico, 016” Emilia Castillo is part of the legendary Los Castillo / Metales Casados family, one of the most influential silversmith dynasties in Taxco. Her work continues this artistic lineage, merging traditional Mexican silverwork, porcelain craftsmanship, and playful natural themes that have defined her iconic style.
