About the Item

A fine Canton porcelain bowl, beautiful hand-painted model decorated with polychromatic traditional Chinese palace scenes with a number of picturesque characters. The scenes are framed into a greek style red frieze enhanced with fine gold. Napoleon III period (19th century circa 1870). Outside the cartouches, the bowl is decorated with flowers, leaves and butterflies on a gilt background. Colorful, vivid, large item, originally designed to serve a punch. Our bowl is also ideally sized to serve a salad or fine snacks during a chic cocktail reception. Also, the decorative effect on a commode or a pedestal table is strong.
