A charming and unusual 19th century German porcelain figure by the Volkstedt Rudolstadt factory, depicting a young boy seated on a wooden trunk while playing the bagpipes. Beautifully modelled and finely hand painted, the figure displays excellent attention to detail, with the young musician portrayed wearing a cheerful, expressive smile. The quality of the decoration and craftsmanship makes this an attractive example of late 19th-century German porcelain.
